Hey all you beautiful people its that time of year again!! We are participating in Autism Society's Annual Walk again and we are looking to help out our local community with raising funds to help with the many programs they provide for free to our fellow Autism families. Ellie was diagnosed with Autism in 2019 and when i heard this i was so afraid. So many things ran through my mind i was reading every autism book i could get my hands and i also googled and followed other families on facebook just to try and understand some of what my daughter goes through and how she sees the world. I was so overwhelmed so many people have so many opions, theories and alot of them based on facts but what i found out is that autism is not a one size fits all. Each child is different so imagine my frustaration with not being any closer to understanding the Autism world ..... My daughter's world. I was when i moved back to Erie that i really felt that i started to understand that as i said before every child is different and in how Autism influences how they see the world. It was these programs that have allowed Ellie to experience life in a way that it normally wouldn't. We have also been able to over come challenges and milestones that with out these resources i feel we would have not been able to over come. Just sitting here writing this iam amazed and so proud of how much she has accomplished since this time last year. LOCATION: Lake Erie Speedway – 10700 Delmas Drive NORTH EAST

A two-mile walk is held to increase awareness of Autism, fund programming, and activities for individuals with Autism in our community. 100% of the proceeds stay in our local area.

Why is it important to participate? Our Annual Walk for Autism is the Autism Society NWPA’s largest event of the year. The Walk gives us the ability to provide support throughout the year including our Family Sensory & Social Outings, Family Support Activities and Education, and Therapeutic programming across the lifespan. We are excited to be hosting our Annual Walk for Autism in 2023 this annual empowering, fun, family event! We are asking YOU and your fellow community members to register, donate, and join us on April 29, 2023, to make this the BEST Walk ever.

Tween (age 10 – 14) registration donation:

Youth (age 0 – 9) walk for free

– $10.00 optional YOUTH 2023 commemorative Walk t-shirt – pre-order only by the pre-registration deadline of April 1, 2023. *Anyone aged 0-9 who would like an ADULT SIZE shirt needs to register as a TWEEN Walker.

2023 Commemorative Walk t-shirt, long sleeve, or hoodies – pre-registered walkers (deadline APRIL 1, 2023) will receive one commemorative 2023 shirt (selected at registration). Walk registrations will be accepted after the April 1, 2023 deadline but will not receive the 2023 Commemorative Walk apparel option. Limited vintage Walk t-shirts will be available.

On-site registration will be available at the Walk on April 29, 2023, but will not include the 2023 Commemorative Walk apparel options. Limited vintage Walk t-shirts will be available for on-site registration only.
