For The 2016 Autism Walk, we raised over $4,000.00 in Keagans name. This Year our goal is to raise more...
Below is Keagan's story...
Keagan is a bright and beautiful 5 year old little boy who is on the Autism Spectrum. Keagan's challenges began about 5 years ago, after a difficult pregnancy. He was born on March 22, 2011 just 3 days after his mother's baby shower, where her water broke. Coincidently her baby shower was being celebrated in the conference room, at the hospital where Keagan was born. Keagan was diagnosed with severe Autism at just 2 years of age, and upon further evaluation, he was also diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, Communication disorder, Sleep Apnea, Gastrointestinal Reflux, immune deficiency, wandering, severe allergies, Asthma and Tracheomalacia, or restricted air way. Keagan has had more surgeries and medical procedures then we can count. Keagan attends the Elizabeth Lee Black School at the Barber National Institute where he is flourishing.
OUR TEAM NAME IS "NEVER LOOK BACK". KEAGAN IS OUR INSPIRATION AND A HAPPY 5 YEAR OLD BOY. AS WE START OUR 4TH YEAR FOR THE WALK FOR KEAGAN LET'S SEE IF WE CAN RAISE MORE MONEY FOR THE AUTISM SOCIETY IN HIS NAME...ANY AMOUNT IS SINCERELY APPRECIATED!

NEW FOR 2017 - EXPANDED 2 mile WALK ROUTE providing our walkers with more space to walk, jog, bring strollers, roller skates, or bikes.
A two-mile walk is held to increase awareness of autism, fund projects and activities for individuals with autism in our community, and to support national research. Adults and children alike may rollerblade or ride along in strollers or wagons. Autism Society NWPA is proud of our signature event which brings together thousands of participants annually. The Walk for Autism is our primary fundraiser to increase direct supports to persons and families living with autism in Northwestern Pennsylvania; this includes grant opportunities, education, and family social, sensory, community experiences.
Date: Saturday, April 22, 2017
Registration Time: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Walk Begins: 11:00 a.m. promptly; Pre-Walk Announcements and Team Awards at 10:45
Entry Fee: Registration donation of $20.00 (Kids 14 and under walk free)
Youth t-shirts: MUST be ordered and paid for in advance for $7.00 each
Pre-registration Deadline: April 1, 2017
Place: Presque Isle State Park, Rotary Pavilion
Parking: Beach 6 & Beach 8. Shuttle Service provided by EMTA available at Beach 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m (pending confirmation)
