Bridge the Distance | Virtual Campaign | May 8 - June 5, 2021

20th Annual Walk for Autism | Virtual Event | Saturday, June 5, 2021

ONE TEAM - ONE GOAL!

What is the virtual  Walk for Autism?  Our virtual event is simple.  For 18 years, the Annual Walk for Autism has brought the community together, provided resources, and raised awareness.  This event will be similar - but virtually!

A "Virtual Walk"  is a real walk, but on your terms:  you select the location, what time you start, and who walks next to you - 6' part!  We encourage you to wear the 2021 Commemorative Walk t-shirt and share a photo on social media.

The 20th Annual Walk for Autism Virtual Walk on Saturday, June 5, 2021 - we want you to share a picture, story, or video of your family/supports with your Autism Society NWPA 20th Annual Commemorative t-shirt and share a photo on social media.

Show us how you created "your" walk in support of the 20th Annual Walk for Autism virtually.  Post to Bridge the Distance | 20th Annual Walk for Autism Facebook page and/or tag "Autism Society - Northwestern Pennsylvania" and #AutismNWPA

Why is it important to participate?  Our Annual Walk for Autism is the Autism Society Northwestern Pennsylvania's largest event of the year.  The Walk gives us the ability to provide supports throughout the year.  Due to circumstances out of our control, we are devastated about not being able to hold this annual empowering, fun, family event.  It’s even more devastating because we wanted to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Erie’s Annual Walk for Autism with YOU!  We are asking our community to support us in making this virtual event a success so we can continue providing vital services to fill the need of our families.

Without the restructure of this major fundraiser - the organization's impact on families affected by ASD is compromised. By joining together virtually for the Walk for Autism, we can be stronger and united as a community to keep our focus on building and creating better services for individuals affected by ASD.

The Success!  Imagine hundreds of photos, flooding Facebook from May 8 - June 4 with the finale June 5 raising awareness of autism, celebrating 20 years, and supporting Autism Society NWPA!  This is our opportunity to show individuals, families, our community, and the world...we are not alone.  #AloneTogetherforAutismNWPA

2021 Commemorative Walk T-shirts - Pre-registered walkers (deadline May 12), will receive our commemorative 2021 Walk T-shirt. Drive-thru pick-up will be offered Thursday, June 3, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and Friday, June 4, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Walk registrations will be accepted after the May 12th deadline but will not receive the 2021 commemorative Walk t-shirt.
